Modes of the device

The different modes of the EuroProt+ devices are defined in the standard IEC 61850. These are:

On mode: normal operation mode of the device.

Blocked mode: every function blocks are working (so you can see in online data their calculated values), but they do not give trip signal at their output. The output contacts are disabled. No events are generated.

Test mode: every function blocks are working, they give trip signal, but there is a flag set in the GOOSE-messages which means that the device is in test mode. The changes of statuses of GOOSE-messages with this set test flag will not be accepted by EuroProt+ devices. The output contacts are enabled. All events can be generated.

Test/blocked mode: every function blocks are working, they do not give trip signal, and the test flag in GOOSE-messages mentioned above is set. The outputs contacts are disabled. All events can be generated. The output contact tester ("Direct control of the output contacts") can be enabled only in that mode.

Off mode: the effect will be the same as if the "Operation" parameters of all functionblocks were set to Off.  The outputs are disabled.
